Packing List
Ship Nine-Four activities vary greatly from one event to another. The list below provides some suggestions to use as a guide for packing. However, Scouts should use their judgment to tailor this list for a particular event. If clarification is needed, the youth activity chair for the event is probably the best person to ask.
Essentials:
- Water Bottle
- Sun Protection – Hat/Sun Block/Sunglasses
- First Aid Kit
- Rain Gear
- “Class-A” shirt with nameplate and patches sewn correctly
- S94 activity shirt
- S94 Hat
- Dark Navy pants or shorts
- Belt
- Black socks
- Black shoes
Water Activities: (the Essentials Plus):
- Type III PFD (the ship has some to use if you don’t have one)
- Swim Suit
- Water shoes
- Towel
- Sunglasses (with floating strap)
- Extra clothing (one set; shirt, shorts, underwear, socks)
In and Around Camp: (the Essentials Plus):
- Tent
- Sleeping bag
- Sleeping pad
- Camping Pillow – Optional
- Daypack
- Camp Chair – Optional
- Flashlight / Headlamp (with extra batteries)
- Notepad, Pencil, & Pen
- Watch
- Chargers for smart devices
- Pocket Knife or Multi-Tool (folding knife; less than 6”)
- Toilet paper
- Lip balm
- Insect repellent
- Hand sanitizer
- Wet-wipes
- Prescription medications
- Toothbrush & Toothpaste
- Brush/comb
- Baby Powder/Gold Bond
Clothing and Footwear
- Scout Uniform
- T-Shirts
- Underwear
- Shorts/Pants (Quick-drying pants/shorts encouraged; try to avoid jeans)
- Long-sleeve shirt (at least one; for sun, bugs)
- Sweater/Jacket
- Boots or shoes (no open toe)
- Socks (at least two pairs; synthetic or wool)
- Sleepwear
